The Doe Run Company is seeking a Surface Maintenance Supervisor to keep operations running smoothly so production goals and operating hours for mills and hoist can be met.  This position is located in the heart of Mark Twain National Forest at our Mining & Milling Division located in Viburnum, MO.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize mill and hoist maintenance jobs, make sure parts are available, organize and prioritize projects, assign appropriate staff to jobs, and monitor progress.
  • Oversee employee work time and keep track of work orders. Coordinate with employees and outside contractors on special projects.
  • Meet with production people every day, determine priorities, and coordinate jobs.
  • Meet with vendors to look at products that could improve operations, submit requisitions for parts, and ensure parts are available as needed.
  • Work with supervisor to conduct audits and hold safety meetings daily with employees.
  • Supervise fabrication projects, coordinate work with other mills, and prioritize projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Credentials:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial production and maintenance
  • Valid, current driver's license
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, I-Series, and PeopleSoft
  • Knowledge of mill and hoist equipment maintenance
  • Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions and hot (non-weather) conditions. Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts.  May be exposed to loud noise levels.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, talk and hear; occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms. Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds
