The Doe Run Company is seeking a Business Development Manager for our subsidiary, Fabricated Products Inc. (FPI) located in Casa Grande, AZ.  The Business Development Manager will work with current and potential customers to develop solutions/opportunities for existing and new product offerings for the purpose of growing the business. This job will also assess and define opportunities for the business to enter new markets and further penetrate existing markets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The position will require supporting our business development initiative, requiring the Sales/Business Development Manager to initiate and organize meetings and phones calls with prospects, prepare letters and email and will require experience prospecting and solutions closure skills
  • Must be capable of regional and national travel up to 35% of the time
  • Develops and implements sales plans and activities
  • Definition and assessment of current and potential markets and customers
  • Increase sales by winning new contracts and orders through prospecting and developing new customer relationships
  • Identifies and qualifies legitimate sales opportunities, providing a consultative and value-added approach to develop relationships. Negotiates contractual terms and conditions, and works with the proposal and technical teams to ensure smooth hand-offs and builds a sales pipeline of qualified sales opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Credentials:

  • Bachelor Degree required, preferably in an Engineering or Sciences related field
  • A minimum of 5 years commercial business development experience
  • The ideal candidate will be proposing and closing sales to achieve new and existing customer revenue
  • Must be passionate toward building strong customer relationships and have a proven ability to prosecute and close new business
  • Maintains an ongoing relationship with prospective clients continuously assessing and communicating how FPI can meet their needs.
  • Accomplished user of Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills including strong self-motivation, focus and passion for the sales process and service to customers
  • Demonstrates a proactive commitment to safety by taking the time to understand risks and completing all required safety training
  • Demonstrates personal accountability to learning and development of oneself as well as assisting with development of new employees and peers
  • Exhibits proficiency and personal accountability for project performance and meeting customer needs
  • Displays leadership abilities including honesty, integrity and professionalism across all aspects of the business
  • Seeks out new responsibilities and stretch opportunities while demonstrating creativity in identifying better means of accomplishing a job
  • Valid, current driver's license
