The Doe Run Company is seeking an Environmental Engineer or Scientist for our Metals Division to support environmental compliance as a subject matter expert in environmental regulation, obtain permits and design processes that facilitate environmental compliance primarily in Boss, MO. This position will also manage other environmental projects and perform reporting as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Obtain environmental permits for company projects including the following: determination of permit applicability, preparation of permit applications and modification submissions, negotiation of permit terms, and preparation of facility specific plans as required by permit and regulation.
  • Interact with regulators, facility staff, and facility leadership as a subject matter expert for environmental regulations and requirements in order to facilitate site compliance.
  • Keep informed of and communicate as required, new and emerging environmental regulations that do or could pertain to the company
  • Develop and conduct employee training to support environmental stewardship and compliance.
  • Evaluate and develop site practices and procedures to continuously improve environmental compliance and stewardship.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental compliance and permitting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field
  • Valid, current driver's license
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with AutoCAD software, preferred
  • Environmental Permitting experience (Air, Water, RCRA)
  • Budgeting experience
  • Environmental reporting experience (EIQ, TRI, DMR, Greenhouse Gas, Tier II)

Work Environment:

  • Work is generally performed in a standard office setting
  • Regularly work is performed in an industrial environment requiring use of PPE including a respirator
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, talk and hear
  • Occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms
  • Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision
  • Frequently required to lift up to 5 pounds
