The Doe Run company is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to supervise an assigned maintenance crew to achieve production, ensure a safe workplace and ensure environmental compliance, to achieve asset reliability and performance goals as required at the Resource Recycling Plant located in Boss, Missouri.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Observe and monitor production and maintenance in process areas to assure production is progressing. Communicate any known issues or concerns as necessary. 
  2. Review prioritized work orders in your daily schedule and assign work to crewmembers according to their skills and priorities.
  3. Supervise, coach, and follow up to monitor job progress and ensure work completion; ensure safe and environmentally compliant work areas.
  4. Responsible to ensure and that Doe Run work rules are followed. Responsible to insure that tools, proper clothing and equipment are used. Responsible to maintain cleanliness of work areas and post job clean up.
  5. Insure communication with operations personnel is notified when maintenance work is completed.
  6. Assist maintenance planners with developing requisitions for parts and supplies.
  7. Complete daily work schedule documents and authorize employee payroll time weekly
  8. Responsible for insuring proper Preventive Maintenance inspections are completed. Monitor and inspect equipment (including mobile equipment) and initiate repairs when possible to keep equipment running.  Assist with planning and scheduling preventive maintenance activity for plant equipment.
  9. Other duties as assigned.


Required Credentials & Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing /industrial environment
  • Prior management/Supervision experience is required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Metallurgical Engineering is preferred
  • Valid, current driver's license


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adaptive, I-Series, PeopleSoft, and Ultimate
  • Knowledge of general maintenance of electrical systems and smelting equipment
  • Knowledge of lean principles
  • Knowledge and practice of general chemistry
  • Ability to wear company provided personal protective equipment including but not limited to: a respirator, coveralls and metatarsal guard boots.
  • Ability to work different shifts as required
