The Doe Run Company is seeking a Mine Trainee to perform a production position in a mine environment.


  • Must be able to learn how to work safely in a mine environment.
  • Have the ability to use a hand scale, mechanical scale and roof bolter when needed.
  • Must be able to crush ore and run skip pocket as needed.
  • Must have the ability to learn drilling, blasting, and mucking to fill in for any vacancy in the production areas.
  • Must have the ability to perform basic maintenance and equipment cleaning tasks needed.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Credentials:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience:

  • 1 year work experience in an environment that requires manual labor
  • Basic skills of how to operate mobile equipment

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work in high places
  • Ability to learn how to hand and mechanical scale
  • Willing to learn how to roof bolt
  • Ability to lift and carry 55 lbs
  • Ability to climb vertical equipment
  • Ability to use hand tools, i.e. drills, power saws, etc.
