The Doe Run Company is seeking a Land Management Coordinator to identify land and materials acquisition opportunities and coordinate with the land team to increase land positions to keep the mining operations sustainable.  This position will also create and maintain land management GIS/database system for Doe Run to ensure all real estate and minerals position are capture accurately in digital form and available to assist all departments with mapping and planning projects.  This work is performed partially in the field and in a standard office which can be based in St. Louis Corporate office or in Viburnum, MO.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain land and minerals management database, update information as needed by management and various departments. Create land maps as needed.
  • Provide GIS training to exploration, geology, environment, and land management, and others as needed
  • Identify lands to be purchased as trading materials for future land exchanges with government agencies. Assist in leasing of lands for exploration or mine expansion.
  • Assist other departments with land issues or requirements for ensuring the company's long-term future.
  • Create specialized maps for various departments that are used to support company operations.
  • Coordinate with exploration and operations on optimizing drilling schedule and troubleshooting with BLM and Forest Service on leases, permits, and NEPA.
  • Identify land control targets and manage land control document review.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Credentials:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology
  • A minimum of 3 or more years of experience in mine geology and land mapping systems
  • Valid, current driver's license

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Oasis Montage, Google Earth Pro, and Rockware
  • Working knowledge of mine plans and exploration plans.
  • Working knowledge of federal regulations on minerals management (BLM) and NEPA
  • Ability to travel locally approximately 50% of the time and nationally occasionally
