The Doe Run Company is seeking a Mine Planner to design short and long-term mine plans by analyzing geologic data, survey maps, underground audits and reviewing the production needs of the operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate weekly and monthly meetings with mine production, technical services, geology, engineers, maintenance, and production supervision. Lead discussions regarding the plan vs. actual and provide insight and answers for grade or production variances. 
  • Conduct analysis of ore reserves and identify preparation work needed to bring an area into production including development, mine ventilation, pumping, infrastructure and waste removal.
  • Review economic feasibility and mineablility and work with mine management to identify resources and a timeline.
  • Assist mine management with mid to long term planning by providing insight and recommendations based on short term plans
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mine Engineering or related field
  • One to three (1-3) years of experience in mining
  • Project Management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project
  • Experience using AutoCAD and I-Series

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of mine planning 
  • Knowledge of MSHA Rules and Regulations
  • Must be an effective communicator (verbal and written)
  • Able to offer technical expertise and guidance
  • Build rapport with department team members
  • Valid, current driver's license required
