The Doe Run Company is seeking a Mine Engineer to assist the mining technical services to include pillar extraction planning and to assure that escape, evacuation, and ventilation plans and maps are accurate and up to date. The location is in Boss, MO.  Willing to relocate.  Surrounding areas include Farmington, Viburnum, Park Hills, etc.)


  • Assist in the evaluation and planning of pillar extraction by gathering geologic data, doing economic assessment and pillar stability analysis to ensure there are sufficient pillar plans in place to meet budget requirements
  • Ensure safe practices are followed in pillar extraction areas assigned to engineer.  This includes discussion with production, reviewing current areas and discussing issues.  Keep management informed of all safety concerns and issues.
  • Assist in monitoring pillar extraction areas for pillar stability.
  • Assist with the updating and distribution of escape, evacuation and ventilation plans.
  • Assist with performing ventilation surveys.
  • Assist with and participate in monthly min planning activities.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent technical BS degree
  • Minimum 2-3 years' work experience
  • Beginning AutoCad experience
